WASHINGTON (May 19, 2026) – The North American Modern Building Alliance (NAMBA) of the American Chemistry Council is excited to host its third annual Building Fire Safety Symposium on Sept. 9-10, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare Chicago. This event will bring together architects, engineers, fire safety experts, building officials, and other key stakeholders to address the shared responsibility across the building value chain in advancing fire safety through design, materials, construction and building code enforcement.
The 2026 Symposium will focus on the five common principles of building fire safety: Prevention, Detection and Communication, Occupant Protection, Containment or Compartmentation, and Extinguishment. Through expert presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, participants will explore innovative solutions that enhance fire safety while supporting the evolving needs of modern buildings.
Highlights planned for the 2026 Symposium include:
- In-depth discussions on evolving fire safety codes and standards and their impact on building design.
- Sessions exploring innovative technologies and materials shaping the future of fire safety.
- Opportunities to network and collaborate across disciplines to foster multi-layered fire safety strategies.
