NAMBA held its first-ever Building Fire Safety Symposium from November 18-20, 2024. The event brought together architects, engineers, fire safety experts, building officials, and others to discuss the shared responsibility of ensuring fire safety in building design, manufacture, and construction.

Washington, DC — September 18th, 2024 — The North American Modern Building Alliance (NAMBA) is proud to announce its membership in the International Fire Safety Standards (IFSS) Coalition, a global effort to improve fire safety across the built environment. This partnership aligns with NAMBA’s mission to advocate for fire safety policies and the responsible use of plastic building materials in the construction industry.

The newly released final report of Grenfell tragedy of 2017 serves as a stark reminder of the critical importance of fire safety in the design, construction, and regulation of both new buildings and the retrofitting of existing buildings.

The North American Modern Building Alliance (NAMBA) is pleased to announce the inaugural Building Fire Safety Symposium, set to take place November 18-20, 2024 in The Woodlands, TX. The event will focus on highlighting the five common principles of building fire safety and aims to bring together experts and professionals in the field to discuss and share insights on crucial aspects of fire safety in buildings.

On November 7, new exterior wall and exterior wall covering requirements will be in effect. The new requirements change how walls are designed, installed, tested, and inspected.

The 2023 edition of NFPA 285 will contain a new Annex B Guide for Extensions of Results from Assemblies that Meet NFPA 285 Test Requirements. The 2024 Edition of the International Building Code (IBC) will include several revisions to the use and application of NFPA 285.
